Proverbs 2

10 For wisdom will enter your heart,
and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul.

pleasant to your soul...

3 and if you call out for insight
and cry aloud for understanding,

4 and if you look for it as for silver
and search for it as for hidden treasure,

5 then you will understand the fear of the LORD
and find the knowledge of God.

I feel like these words are too beautiful to even put my own spin on them. We search. We search everyday for something: love, distraction, success, community... whatever. But sometimes we search and we don't even know what we're searching for. We just know there's something missing so we fill it or ignore it. But if we knew we were searching for this prized silver, this hidden treasure it might help our journey just a little bit. If we search for wisdom as hidden treasure - something that is so desired but not so easily obtained, then we will understand... It doesn't say if you find the treasure... It says if you search...

Then not only is wisdom this treasure, it also protects

16 It will save you also from the adulteress,
from the wayward wife with her seductive words,

You can choose the path to the hidden treasure or the path to sin and destruction basically and being on one path keeps you from the other.

20 Thus you will walk in the ways of good men
and keep to the paths of the righteous.

21 For the upright will live in the land,
and the blameless will remain in it;

22 but the wicked will be cut off from the land,
and the unfaithful will be torn from it.
